Vote: CULE Strike Fund

The issue of creating a CULE Strike fund was discussed at the last executive meeting.

Proposal: 1/4 percent of salary dues increase to be placed in a segregated fund for use in the event of a Strike by CULE members. The Segregated fund will be restricted to a maximum balance of approximately $100,000.

For example purposes only, the expectation is that in approximately 3 years there will be sufficient funds available to support payment of $50 per day for 15 days for the entire CULE membership. The cap of $100,000, if no withdrawals are made will be reached in approximately 5 years.

The terms of reference for usage of the fund will be determined by the Executive.

The approval of this proposal, which flowed from a resolution at the CULE Convention, requires a membership vote. All CULE members are eligible and encouraged to vote.
