Dear CULE Unit II Brother and Sisters;
The CULE 2005 Campaign is in full swing! It is great to see so much interest and enthusiasm in the elections. I have decided to run for the position of CULE II Vice-President. I have had the pleasure of meeting many of you during the 2003 Admin Conference and I am eager to pursue the outstanding issues that were raised by the members.
My union involvement started in 1987 with the Manitoba Government Employees Union (MGEU). During my time with MGEU, I served as a Table Officer, was a delegate to convention, participated in educational sessions and served on a number of committees including Health & Safety & Women’s Issues.
In early 2000 I became a PSAC member and thereafter became the Executive Assistant to the REVP – Prairies. My CULE membership began in 2003 when I accepted the position of Admin Asst in the Winnipeg RO.
My personality is dictated by my strong work ethic; integrity; and my ability to laugh at myself. I work for solutions when problems arise and I look for common ground without compromising principles.
Unit II members can expect a leader that willingly accepts the challenges and responsibility to carry out the business of the union with due diligence and respect.
In Solidarity,
Sister Shelley Jamieson
