15th TRIENNIAL PSAC CONVENTION – VANCOUVER BC REPORT TO THE CULE MEMBERSHIP FOR TUESDAY, APRIL 28, 2009
The Day of Mourning demonstration was well attended. CULE Executive are formidable while sitting together in the observers section on the massive Convention floor. CULE reviewed the resolutions with a view to flagging those that might have an impact on CULE staff. As the Convention was held up by a day, a revised Agenda was provided which deleted some of the speakers, and extended hours of sitting throughout the week.
The Finance Committee unanimously recommended acceptance of the 2010-2012 budget as presented. After several clarification questions, the budget was accepted by the convention floor.
The Constitution Committee was then called and presented their priority resolutions. Convention adjourned at approximately 5:20 pm. The Constitution Committee is expected to continue tomorrow.
