February is Black History Month

In 1995 the Government of Canada designated February as Black History Month, celebrating the contribution of people of African descent to the Canadian mosaic. The theme for Black History Month 2012 is “Our Canadian Story: Making Community Engagement A Priority”.

CULE encourages all members to participate in events, community organizations, and educational activities that celebrate Black History Month. For links and more information visit cic.gc.ca.

CULE also salutes our members of African descent, acknowledges the struggle for equity and inclusiveness, and remains committed to the fight for equity and social justice in our workplaces, communities, and homes.
