Email to the employer on Human Rights Day

The following email was sent to the PSAC today – we will keep members up to date on any response.

Hi John and Patty. As an employer and in order to meet PSAC’s commitment to employment equity, CULE strongly believes that the Collective Bargaining Branch Director position should have been designated as Racially Visible andor Aboriginal. By identifying this position in that fashion you would have been ensuring that the Director’s team was reflective of what you both practice and preach day to day in your political lives. As today is the International Day of Human Rights and on behalf of CULE members, I am requesting that the Employer provide a rationale as to why this position was not in fact a designated position. In Solidarity, Dave Jackson, CULE President.
