CULE Executive Report – PSAC Convention Day 1

The morning was taken up by the aboriginal welcome, guest speakers David Miller, the mayor of Toronto and John Cartwright of the Toronto DLC, convention business, and a debate on changes to the rules of order. The first standing vote took place at approximately 11AM. The floor wardens and door tilers were kept busy, over the day approximately seven out of ten of the votes went to a standing count.

The finance committee convened in the afternoon and the budget was divided into three: revenues, expenditures and the strike fund. Both revenues and expenditures were referred back to the committee with instruction. The strike fund has not yet been discussed.

The executive meeting continued on tonight, as there were still some outstanding agenda items. We hope to conclude our meeting at lunch on Tuesday.

in Solidarity, CULE Executive
