Negotiations between the Canadian Union of Labour Employees (CULE) and the Nunavut Employees Union (NEU) represented by their administrator (PSAC) reached an impasse on Thursday, May 25, 2006.
The parties are attempting to meet in June to resolve the number of non-monetary issues prior to the union (CULE) applying for the appointment of a conciliation officer. The major issues in the dispute are: wages, employment security, vacation travel assistance, sick leave, overtime and special leave. The union (CULE) will be holding an information meeting in Iqaluit during the evening of thee week of June 12th to 16th.
