CULE members who work for the Nunavut Employees Union (NEU) will be using the services of a Federal Conciliation Officer on August 14-15, 2012. The meetings, which will take place in Ottawa, are viewed as an opportunity to avoid a labour dispute.
The key issues in dispute are: wage rate restructuring for some members of the bargaining unit, vacation travel assistance and wages.
In July the members of this bargaining unit voted 100% in favour of strike action if a settlement cannot be reached.
