Sisters and Brothers:
On Tuesday, January 17, 2017, your negotiating team met with the PSAC’s bargaining team and their representatives for our third round of bargaining. We also met on Wednesday, January 18 and Thursday, January 19 in Ottawa.
As you know, there were many concessions proposed by the Employer this round of bargaining affecting both CULE I and CULE II members. We have completed bargaining for non-monetary, however, there are still a couple of items that we are deferring for the next round. I’m happy to report that most non-monetary concessions have been dealt with and now we prepare to deal with monetary items.
Both sides exchanged their monetary packages on Thursday at the end of bargaining. Needless to say, the next round of bargaining will be crucial as concessions brought forward by the Employer were monetary and those are still on the Table.
Our next meeting with the employer is scheduled for February 28, March 1 and March 2.
It is now more important that we all show solidarity for the bargaining team and tell the Employer that “no concessions means no concessions”. We ask our members to hold mobilization activities in their regions and share them with other regions. We will continue to post updates and photos on our Facebook page, on our CULE website as well as distribution in our workplaces through our mobilization committee.

Consoeurs et confrères,
Le mardi 17 janvier 2017, votre équipe de négo a rencontré l’employeur pour une troisième ronde de négo. Les rencontres ont duré jusqu’au jeudi 19 janvier.
Comme vous l’avez lu dans notre dernière mise à jour, l’employeur demandait plusieurs concessions qui touchent l’UCES I et l’UCES II. Nous avons terminé les discussions questions non financières, cependant, il reste encore quelques articles que nous avons mis de côté jusqu’à la prochaine ronde. Nous sommes maintenant prêts à passer aux questions monétaires.
Jeudi dernier, les parties ont échangé leurs revendications financières. La prochaine ronde sera cruciale car les concessions apportées par l’employeur sur les questions monétaires sont encore sur la table. Notre prochaine rencontre avec l’employeur aura lieu du 28 février au 2 mars.
Il est maintenant plus important que nous soyons solidaires et d’insister auprès de l’employeur : « Pas de concessions, justement, veut dire, pas de concessions ». Nous demandons aux membres de l’UCES d’organiser des activités dans vos régions et des partager avec les autres régions. Nous allons continuer de vous informer sur notre page Facebook, notre site web et distribution dans nos milieux de travail à travers le comité de mobilisation.
